The
County Wicklow Film Commission was set up in 1992
and is the longest running film commission in Ireland.
County Wicklow has long been a favourite with filmmakers.
In 1992 Wicklow County Council and Bray Town Council
established the Wicklow Film Commission with the
aim to extend a friendly hand to all filmmakers
wishing to film here. Since 1999 the Film Commission
Office has been manned fulltime, providing assistance
to big feature films such as 'Reign of Fire' and
'King Arthur', smaller productions like 'Lassie'
and many commercials and television series.
Our main objective is to guarantee a film friendly
County by assisting filmmakers with all the requirements
filming on location brings.
We can help you, for example, to source production
offices anywhere in the County. We can put you
in touch with landowners or establish the relevant
contacts within the local authorities to help
you move street furniture. Let us organise your
road closure or sort out parking requirements.
Our extensive digital slide library can be accessed
through the locations
database.
Through years of experience we are confident
we can assist you no matter how small or big your
project.
